GRx customer and owners of Maryville Pharmacy in Maryville, IL were featured on CBS News when the pandemic first broke out. During their interview, siblings Harry and Catherine Zollars shared their concerns about their customers and what they were doing to keep safe.
“It was a proud moment for pharmacists in the Metro East area to watch ‘one of our own’ featured on National TV,” praises pharmacist and GRx Client Services Regional Director, Penny Bobcik.
Fast forward almost a year later and Penny went with the GRx Field Rep to service the account. The conversation quickly turned to COVID and vaccines. Harry Zollars, one of the owners of Maryville Pharmacy shared his thoughts on the vaccine.
“As a pharmacy owner and healthcare provider, it’s important for me to provide accurate and evidence-based information to my customers about the vaccine. Patients are hesitant about these new vaccinees. The vaccines came to market fast, but I look back in history to the introduction of the polio vaccine. We were able to eradicate a major transmissible disease through hard work and proper education of the public at large”, explains Harry Zollars.
Like many of our pharmacy customers, the folks at Maryville believe there is light at the end of the tunnel. And through a coordinated effort of wearing masks, remaining socially distant and this vaccine, we can win the battle.
Our thanks to Maryville Pharmacy as well as all the pharmacists, pharmacy interns, and pharmacy technicians who are part of the essential work force, and working with patients every day to assist with the COVID-19 pandemic.
